About Me

I’m the maker behind Northern Timber Co., based in Stockport, Greater Manchester. I make handmade shelves from reclaimed scaffold boards, giving well-used timber a new place in your home.

Wood with a story

What I love about reclaimed wood is its character. Knots, grain, old fixing holes and saw marks make every board different. I work with those details, so each shelf keeps a little of its past.

Made by hand, finished with care

I sand and finish each shelf with clear satin varnish to bring out the wood’s natural grain. Paired with simple black steel brackets, the result is a practical shelf with warmth and character.

Below, you’ll be able to see the face behind the shelves and a glimpse of how I make them.

If you have a question about a shelf, get in touch — I’d be happy to help.
